With Christmas right around the corner, Gentle Dog Training wants to give you some tips for picking the perfect toys for your dog(s). When picking out a toy for your dog, consider the size of the toy, its durability, the material it's made of, and its ability to be cleaned.
Avoid any toys that are too small that your dog could swallow or choke on. A good toy should fit comfortably in your dog's mouth, and fortunately, many toy manufacturers now make dog size and weight recommendations on the toy packaging to help you make the best choice.
A good toy should be easy to clean in the event that your dog gets it into something dirty. The best dog toys are often made of a durable material such as rubber or thick felt or other fabric and won't need to be replaced often. Also, keep in mind that stuffed animals can be dangerous for your dogs because if a hole is chewed in it, your pup may ingest the filling.
If you follow all of these tips, your dog is sure to love his/her Christmas toys. We wish you a happy and safe holiday season with your dog(s)!
