The use of dog flea products and medicine is often met with some resistance for many dog owners. Why? Because the use of chemicals on their beloved dogs makes many owners nervous, and for good reason. The fact of the matter is, not all dog flea treatment options are created equally, and some can actually be quite dangerous.
When Frontline Plus for Dogs hit the market, it was a relief to many pet owners to finally have a safe way of having better dog flea control, and to have the protection against ticks as well, which could cause Lyme disease in dogs.
These dog flea products are available in 3 or 6 packs of monthly doses
Frontline Plus for Small
Dogs and Puppies
Safe for dogs 8 weeks or
older and 1-22 pounds
Fortunately, unlike other dog flea products, Frontline Plus for Dogs does not require that your dog be bitten by a flea or tick in order for the flea medicine to kill these parasites
Frontline Plus for Medium Dogs
Safe for dogs 23-44 pounds
When applied monthly, dog flea products like Frontline provide protection against fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae, and ticks. The medication is applied to the skin, typically at the back of the neck or base of the skull, between the ears, and seeps into your pet’s natural oil glands to distribute consistently throughout your pet’s hair coat over the next 30 days.
Frontline Plus for Large Dogs
Safe for dogs 45-88 pounds
Frontline Plus for Dogs should not be applied to any dog under 8 weeks of age, and it is important that you choose the right product for your dog’s weight, as the dog flea medicine is dosed according to weight. When applied correctly, and used once every 30 days, Frontline for dogs will kill fleas within 12 hours and ticks within 48 hours of contact with your treated pet.
Frontline Plus for Extra-Large Dogs
Safe for dogs 89-132 pounds
